I am delighted to announce that Sharon Rawlins, currently Head of Youth
Services at the Library for the Blind and Handicapped, will be joining
the Library Development Bureau on May 29 as our Youth Services
Consultant.

Sharon has been working in the field of youth services in New Jersey
since 1991. The experience she gained at the Piscataway Public Library
in materials selection, programming and serving on both state and
national committees led to her selection for the LBH post in 2005. Since
then Sharon has been involved with projects such as the statewide summer
reading program, American Sign Language story hours, American Library
Association/Young Adult Library Services Association Best Books for
Young Adults Committee and as a board member of the Children's Services
Section of the New Jersey Library Association.

The LDB staff looks forward to Sharon joining our department, as well as
her continuing contributions to both the State Library and her
colleagues in public and school libraries.
